In this 2 hour session you'll have a broad hands-on experience making paper.
We'll cover: How to prepare your varied source papers via different processing methods, Explanations of the papermaking equipment involved & used in the process,Setting up and charging your vat with pulp, Pulling sheets of paper from the vat, the couching techniques, Some extra creative techniques to add a bit of Individuality & Bling to your paper, Information on pressing and drying.
Expect to take home 20+ damp sheets of handmade, recycled paper to dry. You'll need to bring: - Cotton fabric/or old blanket (an old bedsheet is ideal) cut into A4 pieces, you'll need approximately 20-30 A4 pieces - a plastic tray or board or shallow box to carry home your damp papers - Apron and closed in shoes that can get wet.
A member of P A Q for over 25 years Joanna’s main creative pursuits involve papermaking from backyard botanicals like banana, lemongrass and bromeliad with her own digital prints seen on these papers.
