Pop-Up Shop Recap: 13–15 December 2024
The Stars Aligned for a Dazzling Weekend of Handmade Magic
In the lead-up to the festive season, BVAC’s final Pop-Up Shop for 2024 brought the sparkle, the talent, and the heart of Brisbane’s arts and crafts community together under one roof. From December 13–15, the Auditorium at Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens was transformed into a constellation of creativity, where visitors could browse, connect, and shop directly from the makers.

Gifts, Stars, and Holiday Charm
Set against the lush backdrop of the Botanical Gardens, this holiday-themed pop-up was brimming with charm. Artisans from across our member groups showcased their handmade wares — from intricately beaded jewellery and stunning ceramics to paper creations, paintings, and textiles. It was the perfect place to pick up a meaningful gift or a special treat for yourself before the year came to a close.
The December theme, “The Stars Have Aligned at BVAC,” added a touch of magic to the weekend. Visitors were invited to join the fun by spotting star-themed artworks and items hidden throughout the venue. Each discovery was an entry into our festive prize draw — and let’s just say, the stars weren’t the only thing shining that weekend!
Participating groups included:
ATASDA (Australian Textile And Surface Design Artists)
Artwest Community Gallery
Queensland Enamellers Guild
Scattered Arts
Watercolour Society of Queensland
Australian Porcelain Artists and Teachers
Sunshine Beaders
Western Suburbs Clayworkers
Papermakers and Artists of Queensland

A Heartfelt Thanks from BVAC
As the year drew to a close, this Pop-Up Shop was a joyful reminder of the community we’ve built together — artists, makers, and supporters alike. BVAC is proud to create space for local creativity to thrive, and we’re grateful to everyone who made the December shop such a success.
Here’s to more moments of inspiration, celebration, and connection in the year ahead.
